You Might Ask... Why Horses?

Living together they share a community. Individuals in that community might even be family members. Observing their community you will see leaders, followers, team players, peers, friends, foes, young and old. Watching their community dynamics you might see love, anger, respect, jealousy, selfishness, sharing, playing, fighting, excitement, affection, mood swings, weakness, and strength. You can observe depression, anxieties, addictions, illness, injuries, allergies, physical defects, bad habits and repetitious behaviors. Is this describing humans or horses? We think both, which is why working with horses gives us great opportunity to learn about ourselves. Working with horses provides great opportunity for metaphorical learning.

One thing is different though. Horses are always honest. When people interact with horses, since horses don't lie, the interaction is an accurate reflection of people's feelings, thoughts (because we act, or behave according to our feelings and thoughts) and interaction patterns within our relationships. This is true both with the horses and beyond that to our feelings and thoughts about ourselves, how we relate to the world around us, and how we relate to other people in our environment.
